Stay Grounded in Gratitude
Times are hard.
I know that’s true,
You’ll find comfort in the helpful things you say and do
So search for words of comfort and care
Do good deeds when many aren’t near
When the world feels dark and crude
Seek small moments of gratitude
Times are tough right now and it may make you feel as if there is very little to be grateful for. Politics, global health, DEI, and many other societal topics are all on the line all at once and it’s leaving very little room for hope. However, we can always pause and find moments in life to say thank you.
Here are a few of those possible moments:
You woke up.
You woke up and made breakfast and/or coffee
You feel loved by somebody
You have comfortable living quarters
You can leave your living quarters and go anywhere else, anytime you want.
You can pay your bills on time
You have the freedom of choice.
You woke up.
In the wee small hours of the morning, before you tackle the troubles of this world, seek out moments of solitude so that you can practice gratitude.
Living a life of gratitude means recognizing and appreciating the blessings we have, understanding that not everyone shares the same privileges, and striving to create a world where equal opportunities are accessible to all. With this outlook, we see that having gratitude is not only a feeling, but also an action. We can show up with kindness, live with empathy, and spread hope and joy whenever the world around us feels heavy and unbearable, all because we took time to give thanks.
When we pause to give thanks,we acknowledge that there is good in the world, even when things seem to be falling apart. It is through this recognition that we begin to heal, not only ourselves, but the world we all share.
Take a moment to say thank you
Thank you for today, for this moment, and for tomorrow’s possibilities.
